GREAT GLASS PUMPKIN PATCH RETURNS TO PALO ALTO ART CENTER FOR THE 29TH YEAR!

Palo Alto, CA – The biggest glass pumpkin patch in Northern California returns to the Palo Alto Art Center for its 29th year on Saturday, September 28th and 29th, from 10am to 5pm. The best part: visitors to the patch can purchase their favorites and meet the artists who created them!

Palo Alto’s beloved Great Glass Pumpkin Patch draws thousands of visitors from all over the country to explore more than 10,000 unique and one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins, gourds, and autumnal keepsakes—in countless arrays of colors and sizes, ranging in height from 1 inch to 2 feet—all available for purchase.

In addition to the thousands of works of art, guests of the weekend-long event will enjoy glass-blowing demonstrations and the Palo Alto Art Center’s art exhibition “Grow,” which examines gardens in contemporary art by looking at gardens of the past, the parks around us, and gardens of the future.

Bay Area glass artists slated to participate in this year’s Patch include Nick Leonoff, Cory Ballis, Dana Rotter & Peter Stucky, Jeanette Hartley, Kimberly Wilcox, Myles Freedman, Jonathan Scally, Nick Nourot, Janett Peace, Shannon Jane Morgan, Ingrid and Ken Hanson, Lucie Ramos, John Peters, Kevin Chong, and many more to be confirmed.

Proceeds from selling glass creations benefit the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI), the Palo Alto Art Center, the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, and participating glass artists. “Since its founding, the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch has raised over $6.25 million that has since been invested in the local-area community,” notes Palo Alto Art Center Foundation Chief Development Officer Karen Kwan. “The event is a great way to enjoy the arts with the entire family while shopping local and supporting the arts.”

All Great Glass Pumpkin Patch events are entirely free!
