GREAT GLASS PUMPKIN PATCH RETURNS TO PALO ALTO FOR 31ST YEAR

More than 10,000 handmade glass pumpkins, 20+ glass artists, and live glassblowing return to the Palo Alto Art Center September 26–27

PALO ALTO, Calif. — The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch returns to the Palo Alto Art Center September 26–27, 2026, bringing more than 10,000 handmade glass pumpkins and 20+ glass artists together for one of the Bay Area’s most distinctive fall traditions.

Now in its 31st year, the free two-day event attracts more than 5,000 visitors annually and gives guests the opportunity to meet glass artists, shop thousands of one-of-a-kind pumpkins and autumn-inspired works, and watch live glassblowing demonstrations. Over more than three decades, the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch has grown into a signature Palo Alto event for art collectors, families, and visitors looking for a fall experience.

This year’s participating artists include Cory Ballis, Myles Freedman, Michael Hale, Ingrid and Ken Hanson, Jeanette Hartley, Henrik Jorgensen, Nick Leonoff, Shannon Jane Morgan, Eileen Morrison, Janett Peace, John Peters, Dana Rottler, Scott Satkin, Jonathan Scally, Treg Silkwood, Richard Small, Kyle Tran, James Vreeland, and Kimberly Willcox, and more.

Each artist brings a different approach to the traditional pumpkin form, resulting in thousands of pieces that vary in color, shape, size, technique, and style. Many participating artists spend months creating work specifically for the Patch.

Visitors will also get a behind-the-scenes look at how the artists create their work with live glassblowing demonstrations throughout the weekend.

Visitors can also enter for a chance to win a glass pumpkin created by an artist from the Bay Area Glass Institute. No purchase is necessary. The winner must collect the pumpkin in person at the Palo Alto Art Center. Eligibility requirements, entry period, terms, conditions, and official rules apply. Visit the website for details.

The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch benefits the Bay Area Glass Institute, Palo Alto Art Center, Palo Alto Art Center Foundation, and participating glass artists, while giving the public an opportunity to purchase original, locally made glass art.
